In this short video, I will give a demonstration of the structure of the online course and how to progress through its lessons

Using the User Dashboard to access different Phases

After you log in, you will arrive here on the User Dashboard. From here, you can access the Introduction and all four Phases of the course, as well as Additional resources and a support page

You can access these from the purple menu bar at the top, or if you scroll down the page, you can see sections where you can access each of them

It is required to complete each Phase to access the next

It’s important to note that you will need to access each Phase in sequence. That means you will have to complete all activities in Phase 1 before you’ll be able to move on to Phase 2

So if we click on Phase 2, we’ll see that our access to that is currently locked. We need to complete both the Introduction and Phase 1

Structure of a Phase

.Let’s look at Phase 1

All of the phases have a similar structure. They start with learning objectives, which explain what is going to be covered in the Phase, and then the content is divided into three main sections: the theoretical background, practicing with the mentor, and personal reflection

We can click on Expand All to see all of the content in each of those sections. As you can see, the Theory section often has sub-lessons that divide up the content, while the Practice with the Mentor and Reflection sections never do

Navigation inside a Phase

When we click on a phase or a lesson, our view changes slightly. This focus mode allows us to concentrate on the content of the lesson.

We have a sidebar, which we can move in or out, and gives us the contents of the lesson and allows us to move around it quickly, and then we have the text content. If there are sub-lessons, they’ll be listed below. There is also this button which allows you to immediately start the first lesson

Lesson Structure

Each lesson consists of some text, instructions for the interactive activity, a video to watch, and then an interactive checklist. You can use this checklist to observe for, in this case physiological signs, and then by pressing Continue, you can check how your observations compare to those of a mentor

Completing a Lesson

When you’re satisfied with what you’ve observed and you’re content that you’ve completed a lesson, you can mark it complete. Marking it complete automatically moves you on to the next lesson, here you can see we are in lesson 2, and it also gives the lesson you’ve marked complete a green check mark

You can also see there is a progress bar at the top of the course that shows how many steps you have completed. You can also mark complete at the top here

Completing a Phase

Once you’ve marked all of the content in a particular phase complete, you’ll be ready to move on to the next one.
